Urdhva Dhanurasana over upside down chair
I
learned this supported version of Urdhva Dhanurasana (upward bow
position) with senior Iyengar teacher Carrie Owerko last time she was
here at California Yoga Center.
This version builds proprioception and self-trust as you literally
feeling like you are hanging on at the edge of your life but with a
quiet and relaxed sense of alertness. That is what I love about
practicing Iyengar yoga, it always takes me to the precipice to see the
grand view of life without ever falling off. It's a daring endeavor this
journey inwards. And I've barely just begun.
